Oh babies - they are beautiful and incredible and wow, they change your life. I think the biggest difference in our lives is that now instead of two people each being able to contribute to whatever goal we have in mind, only one is typically able to participate while the other is taking care of this beautiful child (aka "black hold of need"). Don't get me wrong, she is absolutely incredible, but I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't mind an occasional break. It's tough. What I have to remember is that Addison is one of our goals. Every minute we spend engaging with her, feeding her, caring for her, is contributing to her future. To this wonderful child that we have brought into the world. She is and forever will be absolutely precious. Each moment with her is precious and the time that she is this size, where she has so many needs, is incredibly precious.
We are moving next month to Spokane. Which is great, minus all the work that moving includes. Not only are we trying to move, but we also are trying to finish up about 12 million little tiny projects in our place so that it is really nice for our new tenants - aka the Awesome Oppligers :). Tomorrow, my fab sister, April, is coming to watch after Addison while Sam and I work as quickly and as hard as possible to get all those little things done around the house. I am so thankful for each person who is willing to give us a hand and give my daughter the attention she deserves while we try to get everything done. I will have to make a list of everything we get done tomorrow so that I can feel accomplished!
Today, we made a lot of progress on the move and we got to spend the evening with my parents and April. It was quite a nice time. Sam and I really enjoyed the time with my family and I am so thankful that we have the kind of family that we can enjoy so much of. Today we celebrated my Dad's big 5-0. I think he's young, but I'm not sure how he feels about that :). We celebrated by having a "picnic" like we used to do in S. California when we were kids. Complete with crossoint sandwiches and topped off with German Chocolate Cake. Thank you Dad for having a birthday and thank you Mom for a delicious cake!
